Pilot Polizeikommissar Torsten Born, 35, and TFO Polizeiobermeister Sven Vidoni, 33, were killed when their police helicopter crashed and caught fire in a forest. The incident occurred around 11:15 a.m. local time near the city of Thalheim in the Ore Mountains. Three other officers in the rear cabin were seriously injured.
