Conservation Officer Walter Ceolin was part of a work group conducting aerial moose surveys north of Sault Ste. Marie Ontario when their helicopter encountered mechanical difficulties. The helicopter rolled over and crashed into the bush. Witnesses were on the scene almost immediately and attempted to help but there were no survivors. Officer Ceolin had come in to work on his day off to fly that day. Officer Ceolin had 25 years of service with Ontario Ministry of Resources and is survived by his companion and a son.
