Pilot Hauptkommissar Holger Eichhofer [50] died when his aircraft crashed while practicing a search and rescue mission with police divers. Also killed were Bordwart Wolfgang Friedrichsen [46], Birger Nowak [42] , Kurt Brachlin [46], and Nicolai Brandt [33].
