Police Officers Bryant Brennon Bayne and Tate Douglas Kahakai were assisting in the search of a missing hiker. They were being carried in a basket underneath a Honolulu Fire Department helicopter. On approach to a mountainside, the aircraft crashed killing both officers and the fire department pilot, Peter Crown.
