APSCON Conference Class & Networking Schedule (July 17-18; Thursday-Friday)

General Sessions, Special Classes and APSCON Classes (generally 90-minute sessions) will be held Thursday and Friday.  Class topics including Fixed-Wing Operations; Homeland Security; Law Enforcement Operations; Legal & Regulatory; Natural Resources; Night Operations; Safety & SMS; Search & Rescue; UAS; and much more are available to conference attendees.  A detailed schedule is located below.

WATER EGRESS & SURVIVAL TRAINING

Returning again this year is Survival Systems USA, Inc. to conduct Water Egress & Survival Training. Students will learn from a team of experts how to egress after ditching in water and how to use your emergency air and survival vest. Equipment and techniques will be discussed in a classroom/ground school setting followed by practical application in the dunker at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown pool. There is $590.00 registration fee for members, plus a waiver form to be completed prior to training.  NOTE:  A minimum of 20 students must be registered by June 17, 2025 in order to conduct this course.

THIS COURSE IS SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, JULY 17 FROM 8AM – 5PM (0800 – 1700) AT THE SHERATON PHOENIX DOWNTOWN (AM – RM TBA; PM – POOL).

*APSA will provide 20 complimentary scholarships to the Aviation Unit Manager Course, along with full conference registration, to qualifying APSA members.  The applicant must be an active APSA member, currently assigned as OIC or supervisor of a public safety aviation unit, not have previously attended the AUM Course, and the offer is extended to only one person per agency per year.  This will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

**APSA will provide 20 complimentary scholarships to the Aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS) Course, along with full conference registration, to unit safety officers, based on the following qualifications:  If the Unit Manager has completed the Aviation Unit Manager Course (AUMC) and he/she registers and pays for the Aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS) Course, his/her Safety Officer may register with them.  The Safety Officers’ tuition and conference registration will be subsidized by APSA.  (The applying safety officer must be an active APSA member and the Unit Manager must have attended the UMC within the past 5 years and also be an active member.  This scholarship is only extended to one person per agency on a first-come, first-served basis.)

***To qualify to attend at the Full-Time Student registration fee, you must not be employed full-time in the field of Public Safety Aviation and you must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited, degree-granting institution.  A copy of your student ID is required with your registration form.  Individual must also secure a Student Membership to the Airborne Public Safety Association (APSA).

****To qualify to attend at the Family/Guest registration fee, family member/guest must not be employed in the field of public safety aviation.

*****Maintenance IA Renewal Course is complimentary for active APSA members.  

CANCELLATION POLICY:  Conference Course and Conference attendees may cancel their registration(s) and receive a full refund by submitting written notice, which must be received in the APSA Headquarters (50 Carroll Creek Way, Suite 260, Frederick, MD 21701 or [email protected]) by July 1, 2025.  All cancellations received after this date will be charged a $50 administrative fee.
