APSA's Remote Pilot-In-Command Courses include eighteen (18) hours of classroom training for your UAS staff.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
This course is designed to provide the student with a review of the Federal Aviation Regulations PART 107 Remote Pilot Certification Process. The course is a must-have for agencies to train their personnel on how to operate sUAS and to obtain pilot certification. This course will prepare the student to successfully take the FAA Pilot’s Exam for this rating. Successful completion requires attendance at all classroom sessions.
INTENDED AUDIENCE:
This course is intended for public safety personnel, both sworn and non-sworn, that are interested in obtaining their FAA Remote Pilot Certificate under FAR PART 107.

Instructor Bio: |
TIM SCHUH Tim Schuh grew up around aviation. He obtained his Private Pilot’s license at the age of 18. He attended the University of North Dakota where it earned his Commercial Pilot’s License in multi and single engine aircraft as well as Flight Instructor and Instrument Flight Instructor ratings. Tim worked for the Grand Forks (ND) police department for 11 years where some of his duties included Field Training Officer and SWAT Operator. Tim was also the Chief Pilot for the Northeast Region UAS unit and had been part of this unit since its law enforcement inception in 2011. In December of 2018 Tim left the GFPD and went to work for the College of Western Idaho where he is developing a sUAS degree program." |
